Wow, October flew by! I feel like I”ve hardly had a free minute to do anything, let alone blog. Part of that is probably because of multiple trips we took this month.
Early October we made a trip to Utah. During our trip, Abraham and I took a road trip to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. I haven’t been to Yellowstone since I was a girl. I was excited to go but going back was even more impressive than I remember from my childhood. What a beautiful and interesting place! We only had one day in the park and we packed in as much as we could. I was glad Abe was able to see this place for the first time, even though it was a brief trip.
Of course we had to make a stop by Old Faithful. Here is Abe waiting patiently, hoping the geyser remained true to its name (which it did eventually).
More geysers…As a kid I remember seeing a presentation on Yellowstone at school. They showed pictures of these walkways and told stories of people falling into the hotpots and burning up. This terrified me as a child and I wondered how anyone could possibly not trip off those (in my childish mind) really narrow walkways. I’m glad to say we had no incidents!
They'’re everywhere (the geysers, hot pots, mudpots, etc.)
We missed the fall leaves for the most part but it was still beautiful
The “Grand Canyon” of Yellowstone
We didn’t see Smoky the Bear, but we saw a few of his friends…
These elk blocked us from the path to seeing this geyser basin.
Bison. Isn’t it weird to think of millions of these roaming the plains?
Mountain sheep
I would have liked to have seen some bears and a moose but we’ll take what we can get. If you haven’t been to this park it’s definitely a must see! I thought fall was a nice time to go (avoid the crowds!).

How fun to go there in the fall with all the leaves changing colors. And, that you both got time off at the same time. That is borderline miraculous!
Envious........
